Syracuse made their way down to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers and it turned into an instant classic as freshman midfielder Tucker Dordevic score the game winner (his 4th of the game) with 12 seconds left on the clock on an alley dodge down the right side.

Dom Madonna put in another great performance down the stretch to allow Syracuse to hold off Virginia late in the 4th quarter. Virginia freshman net minder Alex Rode had a great game with 15 saves and 12 goals allowed (55.56 save percentage).

Brad Voigt, Jamie Trimboli both put up 2 goals in the win, BUT THE BIG SURPRISE was freshman long-pole Brett Kennedy scoring back-to-back goals to help extend Syracuse’s lead early. He too finished with 2 goals on the game.

Stephen Rehfuss contributed 1 goal ad 2 assists in the effort, and Nate Solomon dished two assists. For the Cavaliers, Dox Aitken put up 2 goals and 3 assists on the day while Mike D’amario netted a hatrick with a helper for good measure.

A key in the game was Syracuse keeping Michael Kraus and Ian Laviano relatively quiet as the duo was held to 5 points between the two of them. Ryan Conrad left the game in the 1st quarter and that also hurt Virginia, especially down the stretch.
