The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays were on the road Easter Sunday to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and came away with a 13-12 Big Ten win thanks to a late goal by Kyle Marr.

Rutgers enjoyed an early lead and the game went back and forth through its entirety as both teams exchanged goals. The fourth quarter was played with a more frantic pace and saw Hopkins jump out to 12-10 lead with 8:07 remaining on a Connor DeSimone goal assisted by Cole Williams, but Rutgers battled back and tied it back up at 12’s on a goal with 3:05 remaining by Tommy Coyne.

Enter Kyle Marr, held scoreless the entire game, he picked the perfect time to get rope off a feed by Shack Stanwick with 14 ticks left on the clock, getting leveled in the process, but stuck it home for the big road win.

Jules Heningburg proved too much for Hopkins to handle, going 4 and 1 on the day. Kieran Mullins had a good day with a goal and 3 helpers. Cole Williams continued his hot streak, this time as a feeder going for 2 goals and 4 assists. Shack Stanwick was also feeling really helpful dishing out a goal and 4 assists.

Great lacrosse game by both Hopkins and Rutgers. Hard fought through the entire game, a bit chippy on both sides as neither team really likes the other. Everything you would expect from a prime time Easter Sunday matchup between two teams as hot as Rutgers and Johns Hopkins are right now. Someone had to come away with the L, but both teams proved they are going to be a nightmare come tournament time.
