Penn State traveled to Columbus to take on bitter (let’s be honest…hated) rival Ohio State and the Buckeyes got dealt a blow while getting beat up at up at home, 12-4. I haven’t been overly kind to Penn State the last few years, disliking their weak early season schedule, but they proved yesterday that they are for real, hammering Ohio State in a game most assumed would be hotly contested.

Penn State came out firing on all cylinders early, and never looked back, enjoying an early 4-0 lead, and lead 9-4 at the end of the third, and walked from there. Ryan Keenan scored a hatrick and Kevin Hill went for 2 goals and 2 assists. Penn State had nine players contribute at least one point in the win.

Ohio state was quiet all over the field. Human highlight real Tre Leclaire was held to a single goal as Ohio State struggled all day to make anything happen offensively, and even when they did, Cobly Kneese was there to stop them putting up 16 saves in the net for the Nittany Lions. Kneese was a big reason the score was so lopsided as he stood on his head all day.
