Syracuse lacrosse has a unique history with the #22. The jersey number 22 has a long standing history in the sport of lacrosse. It has been doled out to a teams best player, or a team captain long before Gary Gait first wore the jersey at Syracuse and started a trend of Syracuse’s best player wearing the number while playing at a crazy high level.
