Cornell was the last division 1 lacrosse team to take the field in 2019 and they did so against upstate NY rival Hobart. It ended up being a crazy offensive battle that saw very little in the way of defense, and Cornell went on to win by a score of 19-16.

The story of the game was Jeff Teat. He was quiet through the first half, but finished the game off with 6 goals and 2 assists. His linemates Clarke Petterson and John Piatelli each went for 4 goals and 2 assists. Justin Scott was hot for Hobart putting up 5 goals and a helper, and Chris Aslarian went for 5 assists.

Cornell’s attack output is a bad sign for the Ivy. It’s not like Hobart is the picture of defensive pimpdom, but seeing the Big Red Attack unit go for 14 goals and 6 assists in a 19 goal game? That has to scare teams like Yale and Penn at least a little bit.
