The High Point mens lacrosse squad stunned yet another ACC team on Monday by knocking off Virginia by a score of 14-13. High Point beat Duke earlier in the season 13-9 at Duke. So they are showing they can win on the road against high quality, ranked opponents.

High Point now sits at 4-0 on the season and they are about to enjoy a 3-game home stand against St. Johns, Robert Morris and UMBC. But their schedule is a lot easier through the remainder of the year.

Virginia is now 1-2 with a beat down loss to Loyola. They then handled Lehigh by a handful or so prior to dropping this heart breaker to High Point.

Tim Troutner Jr. and Asher Nolting have been the story for High Point. Sure others have chipped in and looked great, but these two guys are playing next level at the moment. Troutner Jr.’s 17 saves tonight against Virginia were key to the victory. More key was his save with 4 seconds left on a doorstep shot by Matt Moore. Nolting put up 4 goals on the day, two of them crazy, a BTB and his first from his back just above GLE.
