In Week 3’s College Lacrosse Preview Show we’re going to talk about and pick winners for Cornell @ Hobart, Virginia @ Princeton, Towson @ Georgetown, Johns Hopkins @ North Carolina, Penn State @ Yale and Army @ Syracuse.

CORNELL @ HOBART (Friday Night)
Cornell hasn’t played yet, but thanks to last years late success are still sitting at #4 on the D1 Media Poll despite being the only ranked team that hasn’t played a game yet. Hobart 2-0 with blow out wins over Canisius and Siena. I’m impressed that Hobart has outscored their first two opponents 43-24, but not with who they played. Cornell by 6. Teat is going to go for 6 points or more. Cornell turns around and plays Lehigh on Sunday. Let’s do a 2 for 1. Cornell by 7 against Lehigh.

VIRGINIA @ PRINCETON (Saturday)
Virginia is one of those teams that badly needs a win this weekend. Sitting at 1-2, their schedule get’s no easier after they face Princeton. Their next 5 games after this weekend, @Syracuse, vs. Brown, vs. Notre Dame, @ Hopkins and then still have UNC and Duke worked in towards the end. Princeton is going to prove to be a tough matchup for UVA. Michael Sowers is one of the best attackman in the country and went 2 and 5 last weekend. His linemates combined for 11 goals and 4 assists as well, so Princeton is scary good where UVA is scary bad. Princeton by 3.

TOWSON @ GEORGETOWN (Saturday)
Towson is 2-0 with a big blowout statement win over Johns Hopkins. Georgetown is sitting at 2-0 with wins over sub-par teams. Towson by 3 and Brendan Sunday and Brody Mclean are going to combine for 8 goals.

NOTRE DAME @ RICHMOND (Saturday)
Richmond is 2-1 with a 1-goal loss at Maryland and wins over Bucknell and UMBC. The spiders look tough. Notre Dame is still getting used to life without Rider Garnsey. They beat up on Detroit Mercy last week, but that doesn’t tell us much. I think Costabile proves to be too much for Richmond to handle though. Notre Dame by 2 and Costabile nets a hatrick and an important late game goal.

HOPKINS @ NORTH CAROLINA (Saturday)
Johns Hopkins is facing a legit shot at going 0-3 this weekend as they head to Chapel Hill to face 3-0 North Carolina. UNC’s offense has played solid, although it’s tough to gauge because they haven’t played any true powers yet. I’d like to say Hopkins has been here before, and they’re going to pull it out, but I don’t think they will. UNC by 4. Hopkins goes 0-3 for the first time in forever? Don’t quote me on that, but I know it hasn’t happened in a long time.

PENN STATE @ YALE (Saturday)
Hot take on this one folks. Penn State is a damn freight train offensively. Jack Star would need to put up 18 saves to win this game, and I don’t think he has that in him. Not yet. Yale’s defense is still trying to figure out who’s going to step up and help Fake. I think the Yale offense is going to show and keep things interesting, but Penn State is playing like a bunch of savage animals and between Ament and O’keefe they are just damn hard to stop. Penn State by 5. Defending champs drop to 0-2. Penn State starts 4-0

ARMY@ SYRACUSE (Sunday)
The Cuse always has a hard time with Army. They’ve split the last two, Cuse taking alst years matchup and Army taking the year prior, both games decided by a goal. But despite always being close, this is a game Cuse traditionally wins. Despite Army’s hot start, I’m going Cuse by…wait for it….wait for it….1.
