Utah trecked cross country to do battle with Furman and came away winners by a score of 8-7. Utah jumped out to a big lead, and at one point lead the game by a score of 8-3 with 6:30 left in the 3rd. But Furman went on to score the games next 4 goals, getting to within 8-7 with 3:54 left in the contest. Utah was able to hold on though and get the tough road win.
Josh Stout lead Utah with 3 goals on the day and Branden Wilson and James Sexton each put up 2 goals for the Utes. Jarrett Birch put up 2 goals and a dish for Furman and teammates Anders Erickson and William Holcomb each went for a goal and an assist.
