Lacrosse oalie Battles #3 covers Turner Uppgren’s battle vs freshman and first-time starter Caton Johnson and Johnson stood on his head for North Carolina in their win over lacrosse rival Duke and came up with 21 saves vs just 7 goals against in his DI debut.
Turner Uppgren also had a great game making 15 saves against just 10 goals against for Duke, but the freshman Caton Johnson ended up getting the win in net for North Carolina.
I had heard from a few people that each of these goalies had big games because of poor shooting from the other team, but after watching I don’t think that’s true. Turner Uppgren played crazy in cage for Duke in the first quarter, and played solid after and Caton Johnson played nuts for UNC over the 4th quarter and towards the end of the game. Both goalies played well in a great game.
