Did Richmond provide a recipe to the ACC for how to hold Chris Gray in check and disrupt North Carolina’s powerful offense? It would seem that Richmond came out and pressured UNC all over the field more than any other team they’ve faced has done so far, a very gutsy move by the Richmond staff, and it paid off. Richmond held Chris Gray to just 1 goal and 1 assist despite the loss.

Syracuse’s epic meltdown against Army proved that the Orange still have off-ball defensive issues. They have played poorly off-ball in recent years and that continuation has Cuse fans alarmed. Luckily these are things that can be shored up as the season progresses, but with Cuse getting a late start, they will be facing teams like UVA that already have 4 or 5 games under their belts so that will continue to be a challenge as Cuse tries to get their game legs back.

Johns Hopkins struggled on-ball, allowing Ohio State dodgers to wreak havoc on their new goaltender who played admirably. Georgetown put the entire nation on notice by only giving up a single goal in a huge 16-1 win over Big East rival Villanova. No one saw that coming. Sure, I knew the Hoya’s defense was solid, but I didn’t see them holding anyone to a single goal.

All that and more in this weeks episode, our 138th podcast. Getting mighty close to 150.
