What a great weekend of college lacrosse that treated us to a bunch of really close games, including our first upset of a top three team. Georgetown got dropped by Princeton thanks to an incredible defensive effort by the Tigers lead by goalie Erik Peters 16 saves.

North Carolina and Denver did serious battle for a full 60 minutes and it was Chris Gray scoring his 6th goal of the game that gave Carolina the victory with just over a minute left in the contest.

Notre Dame gave Maryland a good run, but the Terps Kyle Long scored the dagger goal giving Maryland an 11-9 lead late in the fourth quarter and that score stuck.

Rutgers and Stony Brook went back and forth for much of the contest early on before Rutgers jumped out to a 17-12 lead. Stony Brook wouldn’t die easily though battling back to within a goal and forcing Colin Kirst to make a huge save on the games final possession holding fort for Rutgers.

Yale took down UMass in overtime, Cornell disrupted Ohio States clearing game and pulled away for a 14-11 win over the Buckeyes, Michigan showed they are a legit team with an 18-8 statement win over a quality Delaware squad.

We’ll talk about all of these games and much more.
