What we learned in the D1 NCAA Lacrosse Quarterfinal Round is that Maryland is really, really good at lacrosse. The Terps dismantled Virginia while dominating all facets of the game. It’s going to be tough for Princeton next weekend, and if the Terps are able to get past the semi-final round, it will be tough in the finals for whoever has to face them as well.

Cornell was able to play almost four full quarters this weekend in dropping Delaware. Ierlan was a monster in cage for the Big Red, and they won the game.

Rutgers squeaked past Penn in the same way. They got a big day out of Kirst in cage, and they won their game by the same margin.

Princeton, didn’t have as much trouble with Yale, had to do just a bit of looking over their shoulder, and as was the case in the Cornell and Rutgers wins, Princeton owed a big part of their win to their keeper, Peters.

Every team that won this weekend had a goalie that played a big game.

We’ll also talk a bit about the D2 and D3 semi-final rounds, I’ll make picks for this upcoming weekend and we’re off to the races. It’s going to be an awesome Memorial Day for us all.
