In this lacrosse film review, we’re going to look at Maryland’s Matthew Keegan scoring the game winner in the Terps OT victory over Loyola. Keegan dodges his man through X, up the left side of the field. The help defender comes at Keegan with a poor approach and he simply runs through the dodge on the high side, turns his hips and gets off the game winning shot. An excellent example of “dodging through the help”. Also a very poor example of how to approach a player you are sliding to. The defender should have slid to the “high side” more cutting off Keegan’s attack angle and forcing him off of his path and further away from the cage.
