Michigan took on hated rival Ohio State in Columbus and came away losers by a score of 8-5.

Ohio state got hot early going up 3-1 by the end of the first quarter. Michigan then outscored the Buckeyes 2-0 over the second so that we were notted up at three’s going into the half. Really, really exciting stuff as you can imagine with a score like that. Despite the low score, Michigan goalie Tommy Heidt was standing on his head all game long keeping Michigan in the fight. He finished the game with 15 saves on 23 shots faced.

The game changed in the third with Ohio State scoring the second halfs first four goals, two of them by Tre Leclaire, extending their lead to 7-4 going into the fourth, and they never looked back.

Leclaire led all Ohio State scorers with a hatrick and freshman Jackson Reid was good for a goal and 2 assists. Decker Curran was the only multiple point scorer for Michigan on the day.
