The annual Army/Navy game never disappoints, and this year was no different with Navy edging out Army 9-8 for the road (and Patriot League) win.
Army struck first on a goal by Nate Jones with 10:31 left in the first quarter. It went back and forth from there with Navy evening things up at ones via a Greyson Torain goal.
Navy took a 2-1 lead on a Dave Little goal 13:11 deep into the second quarter. Army then scored two straight, tying the game back up at three’s on a goal by John Ragno, Army’s faceoff specialist.
Army scored with 7 seconds left in the half on a goal by Matthew Donovan, taking a one goal lead, but Navy answered back six seconds later on a Jeff Durden goal with only a single tic left on the clock.
Navy came out and scored 4 of the first 5 goals of the second half, giving themselves a 9-6 lead on a goal by Drew Miley with 12:51 left to play in the game.
Army would score two more goals, getting to within a goal away on a Nate Jones goal with 6:19 left in the game, but after a few decent looks inside of 30 seconds, all going wide, Navy held on for the win.
