Johns Hopkins may have started the scoring on the day, but Penn State scored 10 of the next 13 goals of the game and never looked back dropping Hopkins at home by a score of 14-12.

Hopkins got on the board first off an unassisted Cole Williams goal, but between 13:19 in the first and 4:37 in the second, Penn State outscored Hop 10-3 enroute to a 10-5 haftime lead.

Penn State goalie Colby Kneese gave up 12 goals on the day, but managed 14 saves to help propel the Nittany Lions to a huge Big 10 victory.

Nick Spillane was a monster for Penn State putting up 2 goals and 5 assists. Teammate Mac O’Keefe scored a hatrick with a helper, and Kevin Hill scored himself 3 goals as well.

Cole Williams had a great day for Hopkins going for 3 goals and 2 assists, and senior Joel Tinney put up 2 goals and 3 assists in the loss.

The loss breaks Johns Hopkins 7 game winning streak. I’m sure they’ll be fine though in the end. Penn State needed this win pretty badly though and improves to 8-4 on the year with Rutgers and Michigan looming.
