Notre Dame traveled down to Chapel Hill to take on North Carolina in a game that had ACC Tournament implications, and UNC comes away with the 10-9 win, but it wasn’t enough to save the Tarheels season.

North Carolina had to both win the game, and do so by eight goals or more to break a 3-team tie for the last spot in the ACC tournament. The one-goal win while allowing the Heels to break their seven game losing stream, it was too little, too late as they are likely done for the year with little chance of getting an at large bid for the NCAA Tournament.

Chris Cloutier was good for 2 goals on the day, and teammate Tanner Cook who’s struggled as of late went for 2 goals and a helper in the win.

Bryan Costabile was big for ND scoring a hatrick and Ryder Garnsey was good for 2 goals. Bendan Gleason is glad to be back for the Fighting Irish and put up 2 A’s in the loss.
