Rutgers got another chance at taking down Penn State and keeping their hopes for an NCAA tournament bid alive, but came up way short as Penn State put it on the Scarlet Knights 18-6 just a handful of days after playing Rutgers to a late 1-goal victory.

With the win Penn State wins their first B1G tournament game, and advances to the finals to play Johns Hopkins who beat Maryland in the other semi-final.

Grant Ament paced Penn State’s potent offense with 4 goals and 3 assists on the day and teammate Mac O’Keefe was good for 3 goals and a dish. TJ Malone went for 4 goals and Penn State keeper Colby Kneese made 11 saves vs just 5 goals against.

For Rutgers, Max Edelmann did all he could to keep Penn State under 20 by making 13 saves. It could have been a lot worse had it not been for Edelmann seeing the ball well. Ryan Gallagher went for 3 goals and a helper in the Rutgers loss.
